Arts and History on the Greenway
In 1998 several outdoor sculptures were installed along the Greenway. These sculptures were created by students at University of Southern Indiana and inspired by the vision of the Pigeon Creek Greenway.

Coal Mine Mural
The Coal Mine Mural designed by Eric Braysmith commemorates the impact of the mining industry on the economy of the Evansville area. Sponsored by Fifth Third Bank, the mural on the levee wall north of the First Avenue bridge was dedicated in June 2002. Plans for completion of this outdoor museum include building a coal mine tipple / gazebo, landscaping, and installation of trees. The museum will be an interpretive center utilized for education activities such as tours and classes for bicycle safety.

Historic Preservation Plaques
A series of plaques were installed along the downtown Riverfront Esplanade in early 2002. Compiled under the guidance of local historian Ray Arensman, the Greenway Passage History Committee, and Storrow Kinsella Associates, each plaque features a historic event or person that impacted local history.
